About Moyle Park

Dedicated to the two hundredth anniversary of the United States of America

and sponsored by the Utah American Revolution Bicentennial Commission and Alpine Bicentennial Committee

A tribute to all those self-sacrificing faithful pioneers of Alpine.

John Rowe Moyle, a mormon convert, family of seven emigrated from England, crossed the plains in the first handcard company of 1856 and constructed the tower in 1866 for protection from Indians. It stans today perhaps the only fortification of its kind, as a monument to the industry of an early Utah pioneer.
